The owner of a 2015 Honda Fit in Rohnert Park, CA, had purchased his vehicle less than two weeks prior when it was stolen overnight from his residence on a recent Sunday. The decision to protect his new vehicle with the LoJack® system turned out to be a really smart move. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the Fit later that same day.

On July 6th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Rohnert Park Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Fit, which was installed at Manly Honda in Santa Rosa, CA.

A short while later, officers with the Solano Sheriff’s Department and the Dixon Police Department both picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located traveling on South Lincoln St. in Dixon. The officers conducted a traffic stop and took the driver and passenger into custody. Police retrieved the Fit, valued at $15, 525, and soon returned it to its relieved owner.
