When the Sacramento, CA residents in this case went out on a recent Sunday evening, some crooks took advantage of their absence by breaking in and robbing their home, and stealing their Toyota RAV4 to make their getaway. It’s a good thing the SUV had been protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased. With LoJack’s help, police located the vehicle in less than five minutes after activation.

The Toyota’s owners reported the crime to the Sacramento Police on June 22nd, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the RAV4, which was installed at Toyota of Carlsbad, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, officers with the Sacramento Police and the Citrus Heights Police both picked up the silent homing signal from the LoJack System installed in the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Toyota parked and abandoned on Grove Ave. The RAV4 was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
