The owners of the Cadillac Escalade in this case were enjoying dinner at a restaurant in Sacramento, CA, on a recent Saturday night. Unfortunately, the fun came to an end when they discovered their SUV was missing from the parking lot along with an attached box trailer. The LoJack® system that was installed in the vehicle made the situation better by helping local police recover it in less than a half hour after activation.

On June 21st, 2014, the Caddy’s owner contacted the Sacramento Police to report that their vehicle was stolen with a box trailer attached. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed on the Escalade, which was installed at Dutton Motor Company in Riverside, CA.

Just 10 minutes later, officers with the Sacramento PD and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department both picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Caddy parked and abandoned on Ashwood Way with the trailer removed. The Escalade was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
