This case involves a Cadillac Escalade stolen from its owners’ home in Los Angeles, CA, on a recent Friday. Because this SUV was protected with the LoJack® system, local law enforcement recovered it quickly and safely and took the suspected thief into custody as well.

On June 20th, 2014, the Cadillac’s owner contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Escalade, which was installed at Martin Cadillac in Los Angeles, CA.

A short while later, police officers in Los Angeles picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Cadillac was observed parked and unoccupied in the area of 47th St and Hoover. The license plate had been removed and replaced with paper dealer plates. After a brief surveillance, a woman entered the SUV and tried to drive away. Police performed a traffic stop and took her into custody. The undamaged Escalade was soon returned to its appreciative owner.
