The owners of a Ford Explorer in Banning, CA, discovered it missing from their home on a recent Thursday. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, with an assist from the LoJack® system that was installed when the SUV was purchased, the vehicle was recovered without damage later that same day.

On June 19th, 2014, the Ford’s owner reported the crime to the Banning Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Redlands Ford in Redlands, CA.

A short while later, officers from Banning PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located on East George Street where it was being operated by a man. The officers initiated a traffic stop and took the driver into custody. The undamaged Explorer was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
