The owners of a Hyundai Santa Fe discovered their SUV stolen recently in Los Angeles, CA. They knew who had taken their vehicle and immediately contacted local law enforcement with the information. With assistance from the LoJack® system that was installed at purchase, police were able to recover the Santa Fe without damage and take the suspect into custody.

On June 20th, 2014, the Hyundai’s owner contacted local police to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Santa Fe, which was installed at Riverside Metro Auto Group in Riverside, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, police officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Hyundai was located near Hoover St. After a brief surveillance, the officers saw a man in the driver seat and two other people standing next to the vehicle. Officers approached and detained the group. The suspected thief, who was one of the suspects on scene, was taken into custody. Police retrieved the undamaged Santa Fe and soon returned it to its grateful owner.
