The owners of a Cadillac CTS discovered their vehicle missing in Los Angeles, CA on a recent Wednesday. A quick, safe recovery of their vehicle was performed by local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased.

On May 28th, 2014, the Caddy’s owner contacted the California Highway Patrol’s West LA station to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the CTS, which was installed at Renick Cadillac in Fullerton, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department in Compton picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies, with help from an LASD Airship, located the Cadillac in the rear yard of a private residence, hidden under a tarp. The owner of the residence was taken into custody, and the CTS was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
