On a recent Friday, the owners of a Nissan Quest in Philadelphia, PA discovered their minivan had been taken from their driveway. Because this vehicle had been protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, local police, with LoJack’s help, were able to recover it later that same day.

The Nissan’s owner reported the crime to Philadelphia Police Department on May 30th, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Quest, which was installed at Nationwide Nissan Subaru in Lutherville, MD.

A short while later, investigators from the Lehigh County Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen minivan on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their undercover police vehicles. The investigators located the Nissan on Mauch Chunk Road in Whitehall, where it was parked and unoccupied. The Quest was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
