It had only been two months since the owners of a 2014 Mazda 3 had purchased their vehicle and protected it with the LoJack® system. These victims knew they had made the right decision in purchasing LoJack when they discovered their car had been stolen on a recent Monday. Local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, recovered the 3 in less than 10 minutes after activation.

On June 9th, 2014, the Mazda’s owners reported the crime to local police in Van Nuys, CA. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the 3, which was installed at Galpin Mazda in Van Nuys, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, patrol officers from Van Nuys picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The Mazda was found parked and unoccupied on the street in a commercial area near Woodman Ave and Ventura Blvd. Police retrieved the 3 and soon returned it to its thankful owners.
