The owner of a Honda Accord was attacked by a stranger near her home in Huntington Beach, CA, who took her keys by force and then stole her car. The LoJack system that was installed at purchase proved its worth by helping local police recover the Accord in just minutes after activation.

On June 8th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Huntington Park Police Department to report her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Spirit Honda in El Monte, CA.

A short while later, officers from the Downey PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda in the area of Parrot and Buell streets in Downey, where it was parked on the street with a man sleeping in the driver seat. As officers approached, the suspect woke up, backed up the vehicle and drove into an apartment complex driveway. There he exited the vehicle and fled but was quickly taken into custody. The Accord was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
