When the Riverside, CA residents in this case noticed that their Honda Civic was missing from their driveway, they called local police immediately. Reporting their vehicle stolen to law enforcement activated the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased. LoJack’s assistance helped police recover the car and capture the suspected thief.

On June 7th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Riverside Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Robertson Honda in North Hollywood, CA.

A short while later, a sergeant from the Azusa PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Honda was spotted traveling in the area of 3rd St and Orange, and was finally found parked and unoccupied. Witnesses in the area identified the driver, who was taken into custody. The undamaged Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its appreciative owners.
