The owner of a 2013 Ford Explorer was shocked to discover her SUV missing from her home driveway on a recent Tuesday. The LoJack® system that she had installed when purchasing her vehicle turned out to have been an excellent investment. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered her Explorer in just minutes after activation.

On May 6th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report that her SUV was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Friendly Ford in Las Vegas, NV, was then automatically activated.

A very short time later, officers from the Oceanside PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Ford on Frazee Road, where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged Explorer was retrieved and quickly returned to its happy owner.
