San Diego, California Police Department Recovers Stolen Lexus IS250 with Help from the LoJack® System

The owner of a Lexus IS250 in San Diego, CA, discovered it missing from her residence on a recent Tuesday. With assistance from the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased, local law enforcement recovered in in less than a half hour after activation.

On May 27th, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the IS250, which was installed at Lexus Carlsbad in Carlsbad, CA.

Within 21 minutes, officers from San Diego PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lexus was located on Balboa Avenue, where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged IS250 was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
