The owner of the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid in this case must have been a big rush to get inside her Whittier, CA home, because she mistakenly left the keys inside her car. When she discovered her mistake and went back outside, her vehicle was already gone. The LoJack® system that she had installed when she purchased the car just four months ago proved to be a very smart purchase. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement made a fast, safe, same-day recovery.

On May 19th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Whittier Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Avalon, which was installed at Toyota of Whittier, CA.

Only five minutes later, officers from Whittier PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was located on Comstock Avenue, parked and abandoned. The undamaged Avalon was retrieved and soon returned to its delighted owner.
