This case involves a Lincoln Navigator that was stolen from its owners in Lemoore, CA, and recovered in the same town, hidden in the garage of a private home. Even though it wasn’t visible, police were able to locate the SUV because it was protected with the LoJack® system. LoJack sends a silent homing signal to a tracking computer in a law enforcement vehicle and allows officers to quickly locate and recover stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles.

On May 1st, 2014 the owners of the Lincoln contacted the Lemoore Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Navigator, which was installed at Witt Lincoln Mercury in Escondido, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Hanford office of the California Highway Patrol picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lincoln was located at a private residence in Lemoore, where it was parked and unoccupied in a closed garage. The undamaged Navigator was retrieved from the garage and soon returned to its pleased owners.
