Recently, in San Francisco, CA, the owner of a Chrysler PT Cruiser parked his vehicle in a supermarket lot. When he exited with his groceries, his keys were missing from his pocket and his car was gone from its parking spot. Thanks to the excellent work by local law enforcement and an assist from the LoJack® system installed inside the PT Cruiser, recover was accomplished in less than an hour after activation.

On May 24th, 2014, the Chrysler’s owner contacted the San Francisco Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the PT Cruiser, which was installed at Serramonte Auto Plaza Mazda in Daly City, CA.

Thirty minutes later, SFPD officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Chrysler was located on a side street in the Sunset area, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged PT Cruiser was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
