The owners of a Cadillac Escalade in Bakersfield, CA, discovered it had been stolen on a recent Friday. Because the SUV had been protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, it took local law enforcement just minutes to locate and retrieve the vehicle with LoJack’s help.

On May 9th, 2014, the Cadillac’s owners contacted the Bakersfield Police Department and reported that their SUV had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Escalade, which was installed at Parkway Oldsmobile Cadillac in Valencia, CA.

Just a few minutes after activation, deputies with the Kern County SD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies found the Cadillac traveling near Hughes Lane and Pacheco Road. After a brief pursuit, a traffic stop was performed. The driver attempted to flee on foot but was soon captured and arrested. The Escalade was soon returned to its pleased owners.
