On a recent Monday, a Honda Civic stolen in Southern California was recovered in less than an hour after activation, thanks to the hard work of the local sheriff’s department, with help from the LoJack® system.

On May 12th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Kern County Sheriff’s Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Power Honda in Costa Mesa, CA.

Less than 30 minutes later, deputies with the Kern County SD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was found in an alley adjacent to a residential area in Oildale, where it was parked and abandoned. Officers retrieved the undamaged Civic and quickly returned it to its relieved owner.
