A California construction company discovered they had been the victims of a theft when they arrived at a job site in Corona and discovered that an Airman Air Compressor was missing. The owners had protected this asset with the LoJack® system, so local law enforcement, with LoJack’s help, recovered it, without damage, later that same day.

On April 17th, 2014, the Airman’s owners contacted the Corona Police Department, to report that their compressor and its trailer were stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the air compressor.

A couple of hours later, Corona PD officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Airman was located at a private residence and quickly retrieved. The undamaged air compressor was soon returned to the job site. This incident was the second time that the air compressor has been stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
