The owner of a Honda Accord in Rialto, CA, discovered his vehicle was missing on a recent Thursday. His local police, aided by the LoJack® system installed in the car, were able to recover it later that same day.

On April 17th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Rialto Police Department, to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance, CA.

Several hours later, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located parked in front of a residence on Hook Creek Road, in Cedar Glen. A male suspect was seen walking away from the car and entering the nearby residence. After backup arrived, the deputies entered the home with permission from the resident and found the suspect hiding. He was taken into custody, and the Accord was retrieved and returned to its pleased owner.
