The workers at a construction site in Santa Fe Springs, CA, were shocked to arrive at the location on a recent Thursday to discover that a Sullair CE 185 Air Compressor had been stolen. The owner of the machine wanted to protect his asset, which is why there was a LoJack® system installed when the compressor was purchased. Local law enforcement, with help from LoJack, recovered the machine later that same day.

On May 8th, 2014, the Sullair’s owner reported the crime to the California Highway Patrol. Officers verified the theft and entered the construction equipment information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the machine.

In less than one hour, Auto Theft investigators from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen equipment on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Sullair was located in a commercial long term parking lot near the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego. The undamaged air compressor was retrieved and soon returned to its very happy owner at the job site.
