When a Nissan Sentra was stolen recently in in Claremont, CA, the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased helped local police recover it in less than a half hour after activation.

On May 4th, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Claremont Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Sentra, which was installed at Metro Nissan in Montclair, CA.

Just a few minutes later, a San Bernardino Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to the Rancho Cucamonga picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy, with the assistance of air and ground units, located the Nissan at an apartment complex. A male was attempting to drive away in the car. Officers performed a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody. The undamaged Sentra was soon returned to its grateful owner.
