On a recent Tuesday, the owners of a business in Riverside, CA discovered that a Ford LTA8000 dump truck was missing from their business, along with a trailer and a skip loader. Because these business owners protected their asset with the LoJack® system, local law enforcement recovered it that same day, quickly, safely, and without damage.

On May 6th, 2014, the Ford’s owners reported the crime to the Riverside Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the machine information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the dump truck.

Less than an hour later, University of California San Bernardino PD officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen dump truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The UCSB officers notified the Riverside Sheriff’s Department branch in Perris that the signals were coming from their area. RSD deputies located the Ford, along with the other stolen machines, in a vacant lot in Perris, where they were parked and abandoned. The undamaged LTA8000 was soon returned to its very happy owners.
