This case involves a 2009 Hyundai Sonata stolen from its owner’s residence in Cypress, CA, on a recent Sunday. The LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased helped local police recover it without damage and take a suspect into custody, on the very same day the theft occurred.

On April 25th, 2014, the Hyundai’s owner contacted the Cypress Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Sonata, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Huntington Beach, CA.

Just a few minutes later, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department – Lakewood Station picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Hyundai hidden behind an apartment complex in Hawaiian Gardens. There was a male in the front seat who was taken into custody. The undamaged Sonata was soon returned to its thankful owner.
