The LoJack® system’s goal is to assist law enforcement in fast, safe recovery of stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles. This case features a Honda Accord stolen from its owner’s residence in Santee, CA, and located in less than 10 minutes after activation.

On April 21st, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance, CA.

Within three minutes, officers from the El Cajon Police Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was found traveling on East Chase Ave. in El Cajon. A traffic stop was initiated and three suspects were arrested. The officers retrieved the undamaged Accord and soon returned it to its grateful owner.
