The San Diego, CA resident in this case discovered his 2014 Lexus IS250 missing from his residence on a recent Thursday. The LoJack® system that he had installed when purchasing his vehicle just five months before proved to have been an excellent investment. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the car later that same day.

On April 24th, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the IS250, which was installed at Lexus San Diego in San Diego, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lexus was located in a lot at the University of California- San Diego, where it was found parked and abandoned. The IS250, valued at approximately $35,950, was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
