This case involves a Toyota Sienna minivan stolen in Bakersfield, CA, and recovered in less than an hour, thanks to the expert work of local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system installed in the vehicle.

On April 19th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Bakersfield Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Sienna, which was installed at Claremont Toyota in Claremont, CA, was then automatically activated.

Less than 30 minutes later, a deputy with the Kern County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen minivan on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Toyota was located in an industrial area in central Bakersfield, being driven by a male. A traffic stop was performed and the driver was taken into custody. The undamaged Sienna was soon returned to its grateful owners.
