Stolen BMW X5 Recovered by Fremont, California Police with Assist from the LoJack® System

A BMW X5 was stolen from its owner’s home in San Jose, CA, on a recent Saturday. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system installed inside the SUV, the vehicle was recovered without damage that same day.

On May 3rd, 2014, the BMW’s owner contacted the San Jose Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the X5, which was installed at Stevens Creek Audi in San Jose, CA.

A few hours later, Fremont Police picked up the silent homing signals from the on stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the BMW to a side street in Fremont, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged X5 was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
