The purpose of the LoJack® system is to assist law enforcement in the fast, safe recovery of stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles. In this case, a Honda Element taken in Los Angeles, CA, is recovered later that same day.

On April 25th, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted local police to report that their SUV was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Element, which was installed at Gardena Honda in Gardena, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, patrol officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located in an alley in the area of Chandler Blvd and Agnes Ave. As the patrol units arrived, two suspects fled from the vehicle. With the assistance of air and K-9 units, both suspects were located and taken into custody. A valet key for the SUV was found nearby. The Element was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
