In this case, a Honda CR-V is stolen while its owner’s home in Fresno, CA is being burglarized. This victim was smart enough to have her SUV protected with the LoJack® system when she purchased it, so local police were able to recover it, without damage, in less than an hour after activation.

On April 10th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Fresno Police Department to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the CR-V, which was installed at Honda North in Clovis, CA.

A short while later, an investigator from the Fresno PD Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his undercover vehicle. The Honda was located in a residential area near First and Gettysburg Avenues in north Fresno, where it was found parked and abandoned at the side of the road. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged CR-V was retrieved and returned to its relieved owner.
