On a recent Monday in Kern County, CA, the owners of a Nissan Altima discovered their vehicle had been stolen. These victims also discovered the effectiveness of the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased. With LoJack’s help, the Altima was recovered by local police, without damage, later that same day.

On March 31st, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Kern County Sheriff’s Department to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Altima, which was installed at Universal City Nissan in Los Angeles, CA, was then automatically activated.

A while later, officers from the Bear Valley Springs PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their police vehicle. The Nissan was located in a residential area near Woodford Tehachapi Road and Highway 202. A female inside the car was taken into custody. The undamaged Altima was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
