The Turlock, CA resident in this case discovered his 2012 Dodge Avenger missing from in front of his residence on a recent Thursday. This owner was smart enough to have his vehicle protected with the LoJack® system when he purchased it, and that proved to be a very wise decision. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the car later in less than a half hour after activation.

On April 17th, 2014, the Dodge’s owner contacted Turlock Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Avenger, which was installed at Patchetts Ford in Turlock, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, investigators with the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force (STANCATT) picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen the Dodge on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their undercover police vehicles. The investigators located the Dodge in a residential area, where it was parked and abandoned in the closed garage of a vacant house. After a brief surveillance, the Dodge was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
