The California residents in this case were the victims of a carjacking. They were unharmed but their Pontiac G6 was stolen. Thanks to the excellent work by local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, the G6 was recovered later that same day.

On April 15th, 2014, the Pontiac’s owner reported the carjacking incident to police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the G6, which was installed at Hooman Pontiac GMC Buick in Culver City, CA.

A short while later, a police flight crew and several ground units picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The air unit directed the ground officers to the Pontiac which was traveling near 42nd and Avalon St. After a short pursuit, the driver stopped the car and attempted to escape on foot, but was quickly taken into custody. The G6 was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
