When the California residents in this case discovered their Mercedes-Benz S600 was missing, the decision to have a LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased proved to be a pretty wise one. Thanks to LoJack’s assistance, the vehicle was recovered and three suspects were taken into custody on the same day that it was stolen.

On April 20th, 2014, the owners of the Mercedes contacted the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the S600, which was installed at Beverly Hills Mercedes-Benz in Beverly Hills, CA.

A short while later, Oxnard PD officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Mercedes was located in Oxnard, parked at a gas station with three passengers. As police performed a traffic stop, the driver was detained. The other two occupants fled on foot but were soon found and taken into custody. The S600 was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
