It might have been April Fool’s Day, but it was no joke when the Inglewood, CA residents in this case discovered their 2011 Nissan Rogue was missing from their home driveway. The LoJack® system that was installed when the SUV was purchased assisted local police in recovering it safely that same day.

On April 1st, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Inglewood Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Rogue, which was installed at Honda of Downtown Los Angeles, CA.

Less than an hour later, officers from several police agencies, including Inglewood PD, picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Nissan was found on Kenwood St., parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Rogue was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
