A typical Wednesday tuned into anything but for the Santa Rosa, CA resident in this case. He discovered his Audi A6 missing from the front of his residence, where he had parked it earlier. The LoJack® system installed in his vehicle proved its worth by helping local law enforcement recover the car later that same day.

On April 2nd, 2014, the Audi’s owner contacted the Santa Rosa Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the A6.

A short while later, a California Highway Patrol fight crew picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their helicopter. The CHP officers coordinated with Rohnert Park PD ground units and directed them to a casino lot where the Audi was parked and abandoned. The A6 was recovered and soon returned to its relied owner.
