A Ford Econoline van was stolen from a retail store rental location in Los Angeles recently. Store management was very serious about the security of its assets, which is why they had protected this vehicle with the LoJack® system. Local police, assisted by LoJack, made a fast and safe recovery.

On April 10th, 2014, store management contacted local police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Econoline.

A short while later, officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen van on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located on Garfield Ave. in Culver City, where it was found parked and unoccupied. Local police were notified and soon arrived at the scene. After a short surveillance, the Econoline was retrieved and soon returned to the rental location.
