A 2014 Honda Pilot was sitting in the service driveway of a dealership in Los Angeles, CA on a recent Sunday. Unfortunately, the SUV was left running and unlocked. A thief took advantage of the situation and drove off in the vehicle. The new owner was undoubtedly glad that there was a LoJack® system installed in his new Pilot. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the SUV in just a few minutes after activation.

On April 6th, 2014, the dealership contacted local police to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Pilot.

A short while later, police officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located in the vicinity of 54th St and Western Ave, where it was observed pulling out of a driveway. The officers requested backup and then performed a traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody, and the undamaged Pilot was returned, first to the dealership and then to its relieved owner.
