On a recent Thursday, thieves broke into a vehicle parked at its owners’ home in Simi Valley, CA. Inside this car the crooks found keys to a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 parked right next to it. The thieves took off in the Chevy, but they didn’t know this truck had the LoJack® system hidden inside. With LoJack’s help, the pickup was recovered within minutes, quickly and safely.

On April 10th, 2014, the Chevy’s owners contacted the Simi Valley Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Community Chevrolet in Burbank, CA.

Just a few minutes later, patrol officers from the Simi Valley PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Chevy was located in a residential area near Erringer Road and Wexford Ave., where it was parked and abandoned. The Silverado was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
