When the owners of a Toyota Tundra discovered it was missing on a recent Tuesday, they knew that having the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their pickup had been a smart idea. Local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, recovered the truck, without damage, later that same day.

On March 4th, 2014, the Toyota’s owners contacted the Rialto, CA Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Tundra, which was installed at Claremont Toyota in Claremont, CA.

Within minutes of activation, Rialto PD officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was located in the parking area of a condo complex at Randall and Bloomington. When officers approached, the driver ran from the vehicle, but was apprehended a short time later and taken into custody.  The undamaged Tundra was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
