This case involves an Infiniti i30 stolen in Los Angeles, CA, on a recent Wednesday. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased, local police were able to not only recover the i30 the same day, but capture the thief as well.

On April 9th, 2014, the Infiniti’s owners contacted local police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the i30, which was installed at Metro Infiniti in Monrovia, CA.

Just a few minutes later, detectives assigned to the LA County Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP) picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on their portable LoJack tracking computer. The Infiniti was found parked in the lot of a coffee shop near De Soto Ave and Nordhoff Street. The suspected thief was located inside the business and was taken into custody. The i30 was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
