When the owners of a Lexus LS600 discovered their vehicle had been stolen in Tustin, CA, they hoped that the LoJack® system that was installed when they purchased their car would help police locate it quickly. LoJack did its job, assisting local police in recovering the vehicle in just a few minutes after activation.

On April 8th, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted the Tustin Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers.  The LoJack transponder concealed in the LS600, which was installed at Newport Lexus in Newport, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Lexus in Anaheim. With the help of other ground and air units, they finally found the car exiting a grocery store parking lot and performed a traffic stop. The two occupants, one of whom was a parolee, were both taken into custody. The undamaged LS600 was soon returned to its relieved owners.
