In this case, a Mini Cooper was stolen in Fresno, CA, on a recent Sunday. The victim was glad there was a LoJack® system installed inside her vehicle. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover her car that same day.

On March 20th, 2014, the Mini’s owner contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Cooper, which was installed at Mercedes Benz of Fresno, CA.

Later that day, a deputy from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy located the Mini in the vicinity of Kings Canyon and Indianola Avenues, where it was parked and unoccupied. The Cooper was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
