When the owner of a Lexus ES300 discovered his car was missing on a recent Monday, he also discovered the value of the LoJack® system that was installed inside when it was purchased. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the ES300 in less than a half hour after activation.

On March 24th, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted the Bakersfield Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the ES300, which was installed at Lexus of Riverside, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, an investigator from the Bakersfield PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his undercover police vehicle. The investigator located the Lexus in a residential area near Adelante Circle in Bakersfield, where it was parked and unoccupied at the side of the road. The undamaged ES300 was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
