This case involved a Honda Accord stolen on a recent Thursday in Los Angeles, CA. Thanks to the great work of the air and ground divisions of local law enforcement, with assistance from the LoJack® system installed when the vehicle was purchased, the car was recovered and the suspected thief was taken into custody.

On March 20th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted local police to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Gardena Honda in Gardena, CA.

A short while later, police flight officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their air ship. The flight crew followed the Honda as it exited the freeway and stopped at a restaurant, and requested ground backup. The ground officers located the driver, a local gang member, inside the restaurant and took him into custody The Accord was soon returned to its relieved owner.
