The BMW 325i in this case was stolen on a Monday from its owner’s home in Escondido, CA. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased, local police were able to recover it in less than an hour after activation.

On February 10th, 2014, the BMW’s owner contacted the Escondido Police Department to report his vehicle was stolen from his residence. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the 325i, which was installed at BMW of San Diego, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies located the BMW in   a residential area in Escondido, where it was parked and abandoned. The 325i was retrieved and quickly returned to its very pleased owner.
