The California resident in this case was shopping at the mall on a recent Wednesday when thieves helped themselves to her Honda Civic DX in the parking lot. This victim was a smart shopper- she had the LoJack® system installed when she purchased her vehicle. Local police, with LoJack’s help, recovered her car in just a few minutes after activation.

On March 26th, 2014, the Honda’s owners reported the crime to the Fairfield Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Power Honda of Costa Mesa, CA, was then automatically activated.

A few minutes later, officers with the Fairfield PD picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda at a gas station lot on Oliver Road, where it was found parked and unattended. The Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
