In this case, a Toyota Tacoma is stolen from its owners’ residence in Santa Ana, CA, and recovered less than an hour after activation, thanks to local law enforcement with an assist from the LoJack® system.

On March 29th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Santa Ana Police to report their truck was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at Toyota Place in Garden Grove, CA.

Just a few minutes later, deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Century station picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Toyota on Norton Avenue in Lynwood, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The Tacoma was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
