In this case, the owner of a Porsche Cayenne discovered his vehicle missing from an airport parking lot. Although the car had been moved to another town 45 minutes away, it was recovered by police that same day thanks to assistance from the LoJack® system.

On March 29th, 2014, the Porsche’s owner reported the crime to Oakland Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Cayenne, which was installed at Torrance Porsche in Torrance, CA.

A short while later, San Jose Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Porsche on a side street in San Jose, where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged Cayenne was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
