The owners of a Honda Accord were shopping in Alhambra, CA on a recent Monday. When they decided to head home, they discovered their car was missing from the parking lot. Their situation was made better by at item they had previously purchased- the LoJack® system. Local police, assisted by LoJack were able to recover their vehicle later that same day.

On March 24th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Alhambra Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Weir Canyon Honda in Anaheim, CA.

A short while later, deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Air Bureau picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies located the Honda in the parking lot of a motel in Montebello and notified Montebello PD. As the ground officers arrived, they observed the vehicle being driven out of the motel property.  Officers followed the vehicle to the area of Frankel Ave and Carob Way and initiated a traffic stop. The driver and passenger were taken into custody. The Accord was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
